Contorted Hazel is a story of the loving bond between a mother and her son. Marion and her ten year old son, Stuart, look after an old National Trust property while it is closed over winter.  Stuart draws his nightmares on scraps of paper that he then collects in jars; a jar is broken and the nightmare escapes within the large old house, where it stalks mother and son. This story follows their struggle and the sacrifices the mother must make in order keep him safe from his pursuing nightmares that haunt them both.  This feature film script won the prestigious BAFTA Rocliffe New Writers Award at EIFF among many other international script competition honours.
